It was mother - daughter day, and we wanted to try something new.  My mother can be a bit picky when it comes to food so we had to think strategically. So we decided to try out a new restaurant that my sister’s co-workers had been obsessing about. We decided to hit up Tupelo Honey Café, located off South Blvd, serves an all-day menu of Southern comfort food with a creative twist! The moment we walked in the hospitality was on point. The host was very welcoming and the managers were up at the front welcoming us in as well, which was pretty cool. The best thing was that even on a Sunday while it was packed, we were able to walk right in and get a seat! The ambiance was very homely. Large and small table seating, wooden features and unique wall signs is what makes this place stand apart. Not to mention you can see the chefs cooking your food, which I always love!

My mother has a gluten allergy, so it was great that they had some gluten-free options available. I on the other hand, indulged in the most amazing dish of Tupelo Shrimp and Grits ($19) Sautéed fresh, wild-caught, American shrimp, SC stone-ground goat cheese grits and spicy roasted red pepper sauce. And let me not forget to mention the yummy, scratch-made, buttermilk biscuits paired with their house jam that they brought before our food!!

Everything was amazing! From the owner interaction, our New York native server, to the vibe in the restaurant, I give Tupelo Honey Café a 10. It was a tad chilly the day we went, so we opted to sit inside. However, the outside wooded ambiance under soft white lights is amazing on a warm summer evening. Overall, I will definitely say that this place is worth a visit if you’re in the Charlotte area and your looking for some southern hospitality.  Try it out, and let me know what you think!
