Summer Body WYA?


We all know summer is quickly approaching. Sundresses are coming out of retirement, white toes are popping up every where, and the sun is still out when you get off of work. In New York, it took a decade for us to see warmer temperatures but best believe we are here for it all!

If you're like me and my friends, summer marks the beginning of vacations, baecations, friend trips and family reunions. Whether you're taking some personal "me time" or getting cozy with bae, one thing we all want to be is in shape and ready for all the photo ops. Now, if you're like most of America, and trying to get right by next month, I'm going to need you to be realistic! Trust me, I too had to have that talk with myself as well. It didn't take a month to get out of shape so it's not going to go away in a month either. However, if you're truly dedicated to your goals then you will definitely see improvements. 

As I've gotten older, my health has become a priority. After seeing relatives pass away from heart disease and close friends battling other health related issues, I made it a priority to live a more healthier lifestyle. For me, eating right and working out isn't the issue. I've been eating fairly healthy since I moved up to NYC and I hit the gym at least twice a week, not to mention I walk everywhere.  But, I've realized that in order for me to see real #bodygoals, I need to incorporate more HIIT workouts within my routines.

Last time I was home, I decided to contact a few of the trainers I know in the Charlotte area to help give me some new workout routines to assist me with reaching my goals. Over the course of 4 days, I spent about 45 minutes with each trainer and each session was focused on the entire body. Check out my experience here!

Vernon Carr is the owner and head trainer of PROUD Fitness Training, a wellness and lifestyle brand based on constant achievement and personal success. He's known for his high energy PROUD Workout parties and inclusive workout experiences throughout the Charlotte community. Recently, he led Charlotte's Social Run Club in collaboration with Social Status and Clean Juice. He also had the opportunity to partner with Charlotte Fitness Lifestyles bringing Charlotte a Bootcamp party during Taste of Charlotte.

Jessica James

Jessica James is the The FitFat Coach, which is intentionally designed to be relatable, specialized and inclusive. She is dedicated to providing individuals with the knowledge and tools to begin and maintain a healthy lifestyle through expert coaching. While she mainly works out of both Fitness Connection and Lifetime Fitness in the University area, she is also mobile and will bring the gym to you!

Bre Leach

Bre Leach is the owner of Just B'n Fit, where she's all about empowering others to live in their truth and take control of their health in a major way. With over 5 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, she has grown to love the one on one experience with personal training. She's all about fitness inclusion within the Charlotte community and finding new ways to get people involved with their health.

Most recently Bre partnered with a finance guru to host the first Slim Waist Fat Wallet Challenge where they encouraged people to save more and tone up. She will be hosting a Slim & Trim Online program through August to help new clients get in shape virtually with multiple resources. If she's not training, working on a blog post or creating new merch, you can find her taking action shot photos sporting some of her favorite Fabeltics gear.

James Shipman

James Shipman is the owner and head trainer at Prime Time Aesthetics where they dedicate themselves to a level of enthusiasm that motivates, inspires, educates, and supports each client to achieve their optimal potential. They pride themselves on creating an inclusive environment for all fitness levels by hosting a variety of classes targeting major components of physical fitness.  

Recently, they hosted "Friday Night Lights", a  FREE workout session for all to come participate in the workout of the day and learn more about what they have to offer and how they are spreading Prime Time Culture in the community.  On July 14th they will be hosting their first annual Ladies Day with "Wine and WODs". If Ship isn't in doing group training or training for a competition you can find him grilling owt and enjoying life.
