In today’s society, where social media is the main outlet that most creatives use to showcase their work, it can be hard to find true authentic wardrobe stylists who don’t rely on the concepts or visions seen on the following page. Fashion is all about standing out, taking risks and making a name for yourself in the industry. While it may be easy to copy the next, it shows tenacity when you are able to think outside of the box and be your own brand. The #endorsedbykrys feature of the month embodies all these qualities plus many more. Kevin Patterson (Stylez), Wardrobe Stylist/Model is the creative mind behind StyledbyStylez. Bronx born, Charlotte raised and now Atlanta’s own stylist to the stars is quickly making a name for himself in the fashion industry.
Occupation: Wardrobe Stylist, Model

When did you first realize you were passionate about becoming a stylist? If you ask my mom she would say I loved fashion since I was three when I told her I no longer wanted her to dress me. But I believe that when I started working for DTLR that helped me find myself. I was fresh out of school with no idea of what was next. I did a lot of different things while working for them and styling just came naturally. However, it took me a while to just own that. But when I found that I was sleeping less thinking about photo shoots and video shoots and fashion shows, I knew that this was my true calling, my passion and I could do it everyday for the rest of my life and truly still love it!
Who is your inspiration? Honestly my inspiration changes everyday because I'm inspired by life, music, family, friends really everything. I can listen to a song and see the video before actually seeing it and how they would dress.
What would you say is one of your biggest accomplishments to date? I came to Atlanta with a dream and only and a little money in my pocket not knowing how I would make it but I knew I was going to go to school and be great. A year later I did over 50 photo shoots, 3 videos (2 which became major) and 3 fashion shows, one which made it to TV. I also styled Jeezy for his performance on the meek mill tour and Sy Ari Da Kidd for his interview with undergrind.net.
Overall, getting paid to travel and do what I love and seeing my work published is rewarding.
What are the current projects that you are working on? Currently I'm working with some up coming artist to help build their image. I'm always working to find more clients as well as working on developing my brand StyledbyStylez.
How would you describe your personal style? My personal style is very mood based. It can be risky and clean or wild and fun. It is very Androgynous but masculine.
Who inspires your style? I'm definitely inspired by Chris brown, Rihanna, Courtney K and Scott. Olivia Palermo, Lauren Conrad, Fabolous, Wale and Kanye.
Do you have any style advice? Be true to yourself, don't try too hard, and don’t be afraid to try something new if it doesn't work out, guess what you have tomorrow to start all over.
I want to become: a brand that speaks for it self. When I walk in the room no intro needed.
Fashion to me is: my escape from life. Feeling like no matter what happens that day or what's going on in my life, I can always get on set and forget about everything else even for just a few hours, get lost in fashion.
