Living in New York, one of the biggest things I'm having to get used to is the fact that people still go out despite it being bad weather. The southern in me wants to stay in the house, under the covers, when the weather isn't good. Yet, I'm noticing that life still goes on no matter how cold, rainy, or snowy it may be. And the true fashion lovers still will slay the streets in style. So, I decided that I really need to come to grips with my new weather situation and understand that this is my life for the next few years. Therefore, I don't need to allow the weather to hinder my style!

I decided to start my winter slay off with one of my favorite shirts. I got this piece from Wal-mart a while back for only $10. I really love wearing pink, so it was meant to be when I came across the shirt. I decided to pair it with one of my favorite skirts that I got from Forever 21 when I was still in college. I love the pleated look when it comes to skirts. It helps to add definition to your waist and it's super fun and flirty. I brought the look together with a simple gold plated belt. I wanted to give off a Parisian vibe so I threw on a trendy beret and some sleek gloves. Not only did it help with the look, but in in the winter months hats are the key to keeping your head warm! To top of the look I decided to wear my favorite knee high boots. Not only do they keep me warm, but they helped take this look from simple to chic really quick.

This can be worn out to brunch or even on a date. It's more so for any event where you won't have to be on your feet forever and you can just come and show up cute!
