With summer coming to an end and the weather in New York starting to act bipolar, I wanted to style this floral blazer that I’ve been holding on to for some time. One because I feel like it has a symbolic meaning and two it’s almost time to transition out of the bright floral colors and into the more earth tone vibes.

If you read my recent post recapping how the last 5 months have been for me in New York then you know. But if you haven’t had the chance to read it, to sum it up in a few words, this past summer taught me that faith and fear do not exist. In order to grow you have to want it but more importantly you have to believe. Personally, I feel as if I have grown so much in the last 2 months and this summer is to thank for it. I decided to pay homage to this summers lesson by styling this thrifted floral blazer to symbolize the growth and genuine happiness I’m experiencing right now.

With Fall right around the corner, it’s time to start using some transitional pieces within your wardrobe. If you’re like me, and you don’t want to give up the skirts and shorts just yet, adding a blazer to the look will make it great compromise. Whether you’re going out with friends, hitting up a kickback or attending an event, adding a blazer to your favorite pair of shorts or skirt will not only be chic but it will fit the seasons.

I decided to pair this floral thrited blazer with some ripped up shorts and a simplistic white crop. To accessorize I went bright. I paired the look with some statement hot pink mules and a minimalistic banana yellow handbag. Be on the look out because this season I’ll be rocking this bag a few times.
